Time focus and break sessions with a simple countdown timer in your browser.
Runs in your browser. Nothing is uploaded — your input is processed on this device and discarded when you close the tab.
This tool times sessions. It does not track, store or send anything, and it makes no claim about what timing your work will do for you. Nothing is saved: refresh the page and the timer starts over.
Focus
25:00
Completed focus sessions: 0
Cycle progress: ○ ○ ○ ○ (0 of 4 focus sessions before a long break)
Whole minutes, 1 to 180. Default: 25.
Whole minutes, 1 to 60. Default: 5.
Whole minutes, 1 to 120. Default: 15.
Whole number, 2 to 10. Default: 4.
The sound is generated in your browser with WebAudio. No audio file is loaded and nothing is downloaded.
Everything runs in your browser. Nothing you enter is sent to our server or logged, and nothing is stored on your device.
Press Load sample to load a fictional example plan: a writer, Amara, plans four focus sessions before lunch. She uses the defaults — 25 minutes of focus, a 5-minute short break, and a 15-minute long break after the fourth focus session. The sequence runs: Focus 1, short break, Focus 2, short break, Focus 3, short break, Focus 4, long break. The completed-focus count reads 1 after the first focus session ends, 2 after the second, and so on; only after the fourth does the timer offer the long break instead of a short one. If Amara pauses during Focus 2 at 12:30, pressing Start resumes from 12:30, not from the beginning. Resetting at any point returns the count to zero and the phase to Focus. The example uses invented names and numbers; your own sessions will differ.
This timer keeps time only while the page stays open. Closing the tab, refreshing the page, or letting the device sleep and the browser discard the tab ends the session, and nothing is recovered afterwards, because nothing is saved. The countdown uses the browser's one-second timer, so a heavily loaded device may drift by a second or two over a long session; it is a session timer, not a clock for time-critical work. The optional beep is generated in the browser and may be silent if the browser blocks audio until you interact with the page, or if the device is muted. The timer does not send reminders, does not run in the background, and does not record what you worked on. Durations must be whole minutes within the stated bounds; seconds, decimals and out-of-range values are rejected.
The completed-focus count goes up by one, and the next phase becomes a break: a short break normally, or a long break if you have just completed the set number of focus sessions (4 by default). The next phase does not start by itself — press Start when you are ready.
Yes. Enter whole minutes — focus 1 to 180, short break 1 to 60, long break 1 to 120 — and set how many focus sessions come before a long break (2 to 10). Press Apply settings. Anything outside those bounds, or anything that is not a whole number, is rejected with a plain message and your previous settings stay.
No. Nothing is saved, so closing or refreshing the page clears the timer completely. If you need a session to survive a closed tab, use a separate device clock or a dedicated app; this tool is designed to keep nothing.
No. The timer runs entirely in your browser, makes no network requests during use, and stores nothing on your device. There is no account and no sign-up.
The beep is generated in your browser, not played from a file. Browsers often block sound until you have clicked on the page, and a muted device or a muted tab stays silent. Make sure the beep checkbox is ticked, the device is not muted, and you have already pressed a button on the page.
No. It only times sessions and counts completed focus blocks. What you do during a session, and whether timing helps you, is up to you.
