This tool is an overlay editor. It adds new content on top of a PDF's pages — a text stamp such as "APPROVED" or a date, a filled rectangle, a straight line, or an image such as a logo or a stamp graphic — each placed on a page you choose, at an exact position you choose. It is built for the small finishing jobs that real documents constantly need: stamping a received invoice, putting a page header on a report that came without one, drawing a box around the paragraph a client must read, or dropping a company logo onto a quotation.
One thing must be plain from the start, because the name "edit" invites a wrong assumption: this tool does not rewrite, move or delete text that is already in your PDF. The original pages stay exactly as they were, and your items are drawn over them. If a word in the original is misspelled, this tool cannot correct it in place — it can only cover the spot and write the replacement above it, and the old word still exists underneath the cover. For removing content so it cannot be recovered, use the Redact PDF tool, which rebuilds the page as an image. Everything here runs in your browser: the file is read from your device, edited in memory, and handed back as a download. Nothing is uploaded to a server.
Start with a three-page A4 document (595 × 842 points per page). Place one text stamp — the words "APPROVED-STAMP" at 24 points in dark red (#b91c1c) — on page 2, at 48 points from the left and 400 points from the bottom. Apply. When the result is opened and its text is extracted, "APPROVED-STAMP" appears on page 2 only: pages 1 and 3 do not contain it, and page 2 still contains every word it had before, because the stamp was added over the page, not merged into its text. Now add a filled rectangle on page 1, from 100 to 300 points across and 400 to 500 points up, filled with #ff0000. Rendered at 72 dpi, the pixel at the centre of that rectangle — 200 points across, 392 screen pixels down from the top — is exactly (255, 0, 0), the red that was picked, while the page outside the rectangle keeps its white background. These outcomes are the ones the tool's automated tests check, so the example and the code cannot drift apart.
No. It adds new content on top of the existing pages and leaves the original content exactly as it was. Text already in the file cannot be rewritten, moved or deleted here, and anything you cover with a shape is still present underneath it.
No. The file is read and processed entirely in your browser, and the edited PDF is handed back as a download. Nothing is sent anywhere, no copy is kept, and the tool works offline once the page has loaded.
An item placed partly outside the page is pulled fully inside so nothing is lost off the edge. An item larger than the page itself cannot fit at all, so it is refused with a message saying so — reduce its width or height and place it again.
PNG and JPEG. The tool checks the file's actual contents rather than trusting its name, so a file that is neither is refused with an explanation.
No — and this matters. A rectangle drawn over text hides it from view but not from the file: anyone can select the text underneath or remove the shape. Use the Redact PDF tool instead, which rebuilds the page as an image so the covered content is actually removed.
It cannot be opened here, and the tool says so by name when you add it. Remove the password in the application that created the file, then add the unprotected copy.

Merge several PDFs into one file in the order you choose, or split one PDF by page range — in your browser, with no upload. Includes a tested merge/split example with measured page counts and file sizes, and an honest account of the password-protected case.
Compare two versions of a document and get an exact list of what was added, removed, and left alone. Covers line, word, and character modes — with a tested example showing how the same edit produces three different reports — plus a review workflow and the limits of text comparison.
