What this tool does not do / Limits
This removes zero-width space, zero-width non-joiner, zero-width joiner and the byte-order mark only. It does not check for other hidden or confusable characters.
Frequently asked questions
Why would hidden characters be in text?
They can arrive from copied web text, word processors or formatted documents, and they can break searches and comparisons.
Does it change visible text?
No. Only the four listed invisible characters are removed; visible letters, spaces and punctuation stay the same.
