Worked example
name: Ada, age: 36, active: true, tags red and blue converts to JSON with name Ada (string), age 36 (number), active true (boolean) and tags as a two-item array.
What this tool does not do / Limits
Same supported subset as the YAML formatter: simple mappings and lists only. Anchors, aliases, block scalars, multi-document files and flow collections are not supported and raise an error instead of a wrong conversion.
Frequently asked questions
Are numbers kept as numbers?
Yes — unquoted integers and decimals become JSON numbers, and true, false and null become their JSON equivalents. Quote a value in YAML to keep it a string.
What if my YAML is invalid?
The tool reports the first problem it finds by line instead of producing guessed JSON.
