SVG Path Optimizer

How to use this tool

  1. Paste the path data from an SVG d attribute.
  2. Press Generate to see the rounded, tidied path.
  3. Use Load sample for a two-point path, or Clear to start again.

Worked example

For 'M 10.1234 20.5678 L 30.0000 40.5000', the optimizer returns 'M10.12 20.57L30 40.5', rounding each coordinate to two decimals and dropping needless zeros.

What this tool does not do / Limits

This is a decimal-rounding and command cleanup subset only. It does not re-shape paths, merge segments, convert commands or simplify curves, so the output draws the same shape within rounding.

Frequently asked questions

Does rounding change the shape?

Only by at most half a hundredth of a unit per coordinate, which is invisible at normal display sizes but is why exact artwork should keep the original.

Which commands are kept?

All path command letters pass through unchanged. Only the numbers are rounded and the spacing is tidied.
