Tags are removed and common entities are decoded, but spacing between block elements is not invented, so text from adjacent blocks may run together. Scripts and styles are treated as tags too and their contents are kept as text only if they sit outside tags.

Are entities decoded?
Yes. Common ones like ampersand, less-than, greater-than and quote entities are decoded.
Does it keep formatting?
No. Bold, headings and links are lost; only the readable text remains.
