Measuring Cups to Grams Converter
How to use this tool
- Pick the ingredient from the list.
- Enter the amount in cups.
- Press Generate to see the approximate weight in grams.
Worked example
Two cups of all-purpose flour weigh about 2 x 120 g = 240 g.
What this tool does not do / Limits
The ingredient densities used are typical values and results are approximate, because how firmly an ingredient is packed changes its weight. A kitchen scale is more accurate than any cup conversion.
Frequently asked questions
Why does the same cup weigh different amounts for different ingredients?
Because ingredients have different densities: a cup of honey is far heavier than a cup of flour. That is why the ingredient must be picked, not just the number of cups.
Should I trust this for baking?
For everyday cooking it is a good guide, but for baking where small differences matter, weigh the ingredient on a kitchen scale.
