iCloud Export Folder Analyzer

This tool reads only the files you select. It does not connect to any iCloud account, and nothing is uploaded. In browsers that support it, you can pick a whole folder; otherwise pick the files inside it.

How to use this tool

  1. Choose files or a folder. File names and sizes are read on this device.
  2. Analyse. You get a total count and size, a breakdown by type (images, videos, documents, audio, archives, other), the top extensions, and the largest file.
  3. Copy the summary if you need it elsewhere.

Worked example

The sample data (not real files) has 5 files: two JPEGs (3,200,000 and 2,800,000 bytes), one MP4 (120,000,000 bytes), one PDF (450,000 bytes) and one MP3 (5,000,000 bytes). The total is 131,450,000 bytes across 5 files, the largest file is VID_0001.mp4, and the video category holds the most bytes.

What this tool does not do / Limits

Only the files you select are analysed, and subfolders are included only if your browser’s folder picker supplies them. File contents are never read — only names and sizes — so the tool cannot tell you anything about what is inside a file. Nothing is uploaded.

Frequently asked questions

Why does the count differ from what my file manager shows?

Hidden files and files your browser does not hand over are not counted. The tool can only see what the file picker gives it.

Is my folder uploaded for analysis?

No. Names and sizes are tallied in your browser and discarded when you close the tab.
