iCloud Contacts Duplicate Cleaner

How to use this tool

1. Paste contacts text or choose a .vcf file. Nothing is uploaded.
2. Remove duplicates. Contacts are matched by email address first (case does not matter), then by phone number (formatting does not matter), then by name. The first copy is kept.
3. Copy the cleaned contacts and import them yourself into your contacts app.

Worked example

The sample has 3 cards: Ada Lovelace twice (once with email ada@example.com and phone +1-555-0100, once with ADA@example.com and +15550100) and Grace Hopper once. The cleaner keeps 2 contacts and removes 1 duplicate, because the email matches ignoring case and the phone matches ignoring formatting.

What this tool does not do / Limits

The tool only produces cleaned text; it never writes to your contacts, and importing is a step you do yourself. Only the first copy of a duplicate is kept, so if the two copies hold different details (for example, different addresses), the details from the second copy are lost — check the removed list before importing.
