How to use this tool

  1. Rate the idea from 1 to 10 on Impact, Confidence and Ease.
  2. Press Generate to see the average ICE score and the product score.
  3. Use Load sample for scores 8, 7 and 9.

Worked example

Scores of 8 for Impact, 7 for Confidence and 9 for Ease give an average of (8 + 7 + 9) / 3 = 8.00 and a product of 8 x 7 x 9 = 504.

This tool is a prioritisation aid and is not financial advice. Scores are judgements you enter, not measured outcomes, so a high ICE score does not guarantee a result.

Frequently asked questions

Should I use the average or the product?

The average is easier to compare; the product spreads scores out more and punishes a low score on any one factor.

What do the three factors mean?

Impact is the expected benefit, Confidence is how sure you are, and Ease is how simple it is to do.
