Worked example

What this tool does not do / Limits

This tool re-encodes a locally chosen image through canvas, which drops EXIF and other embedded metadata. It handles JPEG, PNG and WebP only; animation, transparency handling and other metadata in the original file are not preserved exactly, and nothing is uploaded.

Frequently asked questions

Is the original file changed?

No. The original stays untouched; the tool creates a separate re-encoded copy.

Does it remove all metadata?

Canvas re-encoding drops EXIF and embedded metadata, but always check the output before sharing sensitive images.
