Dimensional Weight Calculator

How to use this tool

  1. Enter the parcel length, width and height in centimetres.
  2. Choose the divisor and enter the actual weight in kilograms.
  3. Press Generate to see dimensional and billable weight.

Worked example

A parcel of 40 by 30 by 20 cm with divisor 5,000 gives 24,000 divided by 5,000, which is 4.80 kg. Against an actual weight of 3 kg, the billable weight is 4.80 kg.

What this tool does not do / Limits

This is a planning figure only: carriers differ in divisor, rounding, minimum billable weight and whether they use centimetres or inches, so the charged weight can differ. Check the carrier's own rules before shipping.

Frequently asked questions

Why is the billable weight the higher figure?

Carriers charge on whichever is larger, the weight on the scale or the space the parcel takes up, so light but bulky parcels are charged on size.

Which divisor should I pick?

Use the divisor your carrier publishes for your service. The common values 5,000 and 6,000 are offered here, but other carriers use other values.
