How to use this tool

  1. Paste CSV data with a header row on top.
  2. Press Convert to see the JSON array.
  3. Use Load sample for a,b with the row 1,2.

Worked example

The sample a,b with row 1,2 converts to the JSON array [{"a": "1", "b": "2"}] — one object, with the header names as keys and every value kept as text. The pretty view shows the same object indented over several lines.

What this tool does not do / Limits

All values stay as text strings, because CSV itself carries no types: 1 becomes "1", not the number 1. Duplicate header names get a numbered suffix (name, name_2) so no value is silently lost.

Frequently asked questions

Are numbers kept as numbers?

No. CSV has no types, so this converter keeps every value as a string. Convert types in your own code if you need numbers.

What about empty cells?

An empty cell becomes an empty string in its object's field.
