CSV Schema Profiler

How to use this tool

  1. Paste CSV data with a header row on top.
  2. Press Profile to see each column's guessed type, missing count, distinct count and numeric range or sample values.
  3. Use Load sample for ages 25 and 30.

Worked example

The sample column age holds 25 and 30, so the profile says type integer, minimum 25, maximum 30, 2 distinct values and 0 missing. A text column instead shows up to 3 sample values, for example Ana, Bo and Cy, rather than a numeric range.

What this tool does not do / Limits

Types are guesses from the values present, not declarations from a schema file: a column of years looks like an integer, and a column mixing numbers and text is reported as text. Ranges use only the values that parse as numbers.

Frequently asked questions

Why is my year column called integer?

Because every value looks like a whole number. The profiler cannot know a year is a date unless the values carry a date shape such as 2026-01-05.

How many sample values are shown?

Up to three distinct text values per column, in file order.
