CSV Duplicate Row Remover

How to use this tool

  1. Paste CSV data with a header row on top.
  2. Choose how strictly rows must match, then press Remove duplicates.
  3. Use Load sample for a file where A, a and a collapse to one row under case-insensitive matching.

Worked example

With matching set to ignore spaces and letter case, the rows A, a and a become 1 kept row and 2 removed rows, because all three match after lower-casing. With exact matching the same file keeps 2 rows (A and a) and removes 1. The header row is never removed.

What this tool does not do / Limits

Only whole-row duplicates are removed. If two rows share a name but differ in another column, both are kept, because they are not the same row. Use the join or schema tools to inspect partial duplicates by a single column.

Frequently asked questions

Which copy is kept?

The first occurrence, in file order. Later copies are removed.

Does it change the header?

No. The header row is always kept as the first row.
