Worked example
For a 10 m by 3 m wall: area is 30 sq m, bricks at 50 per sq m are 1,500, and with 10% waste the order is 1,650 bricks.
What this tool does not do / Limits
This assumes standard bricks laid at 50 per square metre of wall face, including mortar joints, in a single-brick wall. Double walls, piers, openings, brick size and bond pattern all change the count, so subtract openings and confirm with your supplier.
Frequently asked questions
Does it subtract doors and windows?
No. Measure the full wall, then subtract the area of openings from the wall area before using the count, or enter the net wall area.
What does the 10% cover?
Breakage, cutting at edges and corners, and spares. Complex walls with many cuts may need more.
